This Preceptory met by Dispensation on 1st November 1808 and received its Warrant 8th January 1809.
Originally it met in Stockport at various Inns until in 1866 it moved to Macclesfield where it remained until 1988
when the members decided to transfer the Warrant to Congleton where the Preceptory meets to this day.
On Thursday 22nd January 2009 in the presence of the Most Eminent and Supreme Grand Master,
The Right Eminent Provincial Prior and Officers of Provincial Priory and the Preceptory celebrated its Bi-Centenary.
